What a proposed ordinance must include

This section lists what a proposed ordinance for a special district must contain. It must name the district, describe its boundaries, and explain any changes to services, improvements, or boundaries. It also must state if bonds are needed and describe any new or changed special assessments.

A proposed ordinance of consideration shall do all of the following: (1) State the name of the district; (2) Describe the boundaries of the district; (3) Specify the proposed change to the supplemental services or improvements, the supplemental services or improvements to be financed or the boundaries; (4) Specify whether the issuance and sale of bonds to finance any supplemental improvements is required; (5) Specify any proposed new special assessment which will be levied to finance new or existing supplemental services and improvements or payment of debt service for supplemental improvements; and (6) Specify any proposed change to the rate or method of apportionment of an existing special assessment.
