When a lobbyist can lose their registration

The ethics commission can take away a lobbyist's registration if the lobbyist broke the rules. But first, the lobbyist must get notice and have a hearing. The loss of registration can't last more than one year.

Except as otherwise provided in this article, the ethics commission may suspend or revoke the certificate of registration of a lobbyist who has been found to have violated this article. A certificate may not be suspended or revoked, except after a notice has been issued to the violator and a hearing has been held. The suspension or revocation may not exceed one year from the date of the hearing.
