Taxicab Violations: Citations and Penalties

The director, or any person or agency designated by the director, may issue citations to taxicab drivers in violation of any provision of this article. Any person or entity violating this article and cited by any enforcement officer or the director shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year, or to both such fine and imprisonment per violation. Any person or entity violating this article and cited by the director, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 per violation and shall not be duplicative of any fine issued after conviction. The director is authorized to adopt rules pursuant to HRS Chapter 91 to implement and enforce this section. )
