Penalties for violating the housing rules

This section sets the punishments for breaking the rules in section 41-11.2. Breaking part (a) is a petty misdemeanor with a fine or jail time. Breaking part (b) is a more serious misdemeanor with a larger fine or longer jail time.

Any person violating § 41-11.2 (a) shall be deemed guilty of a petty misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500, or by imprisonment not exceeding 30 days. Any person violating § 41-11.2 (b) shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000, or by imprisonment not exceeding one year.
