License stays suspended until judgments are paid and proof is shown

Your license stays suspended and cannot be renewed or reissued in your name until all judgments against you are paid or legally put on hold, and you show proof of financial responsibility. This applies unless an exception in sections 287-16 or 287-19 applies.

The statute, as written — Suspension to continue until judgments paid and proof given

The license shall remain so suspended and shall not be renewed, nor shall any such license be thereafter issued in the name of the person, including any such person not previously licensed, unless and until every such judgment is stayed, satisfied in full or to the extent hereinafter provided, and until the person gives proof of financial responsibility subject to the exceptions stated in sections 287-16 and 287-19.
