Applying for a Hawaii representative office license

To get a license for a Hawaii representative office, you must submit a written, sworn application with any required information and pay a nonrefundable fee. If you are not in Hawaii, you must also name an agent here to receive legal papers.

The statute, as written — Representative office; application

(a) The application for a license to establish and maintain a Hawaii representative office shall be in writing under oath and shall be in a form and contain any information as the commissioner may require by rule or order. The application shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable application fee of $1,500 or a greater amount as the commissioner may establish by rule. (b) An application to establish and maintain a Hawaii representative office shall include, if applicable, a statement under oath appointing an agent in this State for receipt of service of process in accordance with section 414-437, if the license is granted.
